Schools of Choice application period set for May 2-16

Davison Community Schools will once again accept participation in Schools of Choice and accept applications for enrollment from non-residents in Genesee County and contiguous intermediate school districts. Acceptance will be based on limited availability and elementary students will be placed in school buildings according to equalized space available in all classrooms.

The application period will be held beginning 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, through 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 16. Applications will be available here on the district website during those times. Applications cannot be distributed or accepted outside the application period.

Applicants will need to provide a copy of a valid driver’s license or some other proof of non-resident status. Also, a copy of the student’s behavior report for the past two years must be submitted with each application (for enrollment in grades 1 through 12). The student’s Schools of Choice application will not be accepted without a copy of a behavior report for each of the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years or a document from the school(s) attended in 2023-24 and 2024-25 on the school district’s letterhead, including dates of enrollment and signed by a school representative indicating there is no behavior record for the student.

Students who have been suspended, expelled or withdrawn in lieu of expulsion within the last two years may be denied enrollment in the district under the 105 and 105c Schools of Choice guidelines.

Parents of Schools of Choice students are responsible for transporting their children to and from school.

For further information, please email Robin Ricica, Secretary to the Superintendent, at rricica@davisonschools.org.

Early Release Wednesday, March 19, 2025

Wednesday, March 19, is an Early Release Day for Grades DK-12.

Students will be released two hours earlier than normal (see individual building dismissal times below). All students will continue to have a lunch period on these days.

The early release days provide the district with opportunities to conduct three-hour sessions of professional development with teaching staff. This will directly impact our students in ensuring that our teachers have been given the tools, training and best practices to deliver the curriculum so all of our students can achieve success.

Two more Early Release dates remain for the 2024-25 school year. They are:
