Whew! There were a ton of great presentations at this month's Board of Education meeting. From the Cardinal LINKS students sharing their moving experiences to our Cool to Care students sharing goals for this year's campaign. We also recognized our very talented 2020 National Merit Program scholars, recognized a real Hahn Hero who performed a life-saving technique on one of her students and met Josie Rogers, whose Blueberry Moments random acts of kindness caught the attention of the Blueberry Ambassadors founder and netted a $100 award to her school. Our DHS Cardinal LINKS students led the Pledge of Allegiance and we recognized a very deserving DCER Supervisor Rachael Suchy as our November Kids First recipient. You can learn more about what happened at the board meeting in this edition of Board Briefs.
Our latest update concerning our DCS Bond 2020 proposal. At the November 4 Board of Education meeting, the board voted to approve the Application for Preliminary Qualification for the March 10, 2020, bond. This means that the application is now on its way to the Michigan Department of State Treasury for approval.
