    DTV Alumni Update

    Former DTV greats Hannah Hall and Mike Mcmanaman had a good month.  Hannah received 3rd place in the country at the National Scholastic Press Association awards in Minneapolis for best news story, and Mike Mcmanaman was hired as a photojournalist at WEYI Channel 25 in Flint.

    Image     DTV Is Cooking For a Cause

    DTV premiered its first ever cooking show "Cooking For a Cause"  on Sunday November 13th at a charity event in the AMR.   The Cooking for a Cause event raised over $900 for the Shelter of Flint.  If you missed the show you can catch it on Channel 99 Thanksgiving weekend at noon and 7pm, or you can watch online.

       New Job & Documentary On WCMU

    Former DTV student & current DTV employee Nick Baker graduated from MSU & accepted a position as an editor at Campbell-Ewald in Warren, Michigan.

    Plus, Baker's documentary "Publicly Defended: Michigan’s Fight for Public Defender Reform", aired Sunday (August 14 at 1030pm), on WCMU.   The half hour show tells the story about the need for reform in the state's public defender system.

        DTV Summer Interns

    DTV graduates Kellie Rowe and Erin Calhoun branched out this summer and joined WJRT-TV as summer interns.  Erin is a Junior at CMU and Kellie Rowe is a sophomore at MSU.  Both enjoyed the opportunity and are preparing for careers in the world of television.

     "And The EMMY Goes To... DTV"

    DTV was honored with an EMMY Award at the 33rd Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 14 at the Motor City Casino - Sound Board Theater.  The DTV produced  video "A Rx For Trouble" earned the award in the Education/Schools category.  There were a total of 6 nominees in that category.  Nick Baker and Sandy Coots were at the event.  Randy Scott was not able to attend the EMMY ceremony, he was producing the Red Carpet Prom Show which aired LIVE on DTV-Channel 99.
