Click here to view the Davison Community Schools COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan. This a draft plan pending approval by the Genesee Intermediate School District. We have also included a Frequently Asked Questions document.
We know you have a lot of questions regarding what returning to face-to-face (F2F) instruction will look like when students return to school on August 17. There are also a lot of questions regarding on-line instruction and how that will differ from the distance learning the district provided last spring. All of that information will be provided in our “Return to School” plan that we hope to release in draft form this week. As the District works to finalize that plan, we have developed documents that provide information on what face-to-face learning will look like as well as what to expect if you choose the online option. Those documents are included with this letter and hopefully will provide you with at least some of the answers you are looking for.
Our hard working Food Services staff and volunteers will continue to distribute the fruit and veggie boxes that will be provided to the district through a USDA grant on most Wednesdays throughout the summer. The distribution of the boxes (boxes only; no meals) will take place 12:30-2 p.m. (or until we run out of boxes) at Central Elementary ONLY! The grant we have received will provide us with 250 boxes each Wednesday beginning this Wednesday, July 1. No boxes will be handed out on July 8 as the district will be on shutdown July 6-10 as part of our annual energy conservation program. The 25-lb. fruit/vegetable boxes are free to those with children 18 and younger living in their household. In the meantime, if your family needs assistance with meals, please visit www.michigan.gov/MeetUpEatUp or text Food to 877-877 to find a site serving summer meals near you.
The Genesee Intermediate School District is now offering a dedicated phone line now available for families in need of social, emotional assistance.
