Storm Water Management

Stormwater Management Program

Davison Community Schools encourage all students, faculty, staff, parents and visitors to get involved with the opportunities provided by the local watershed groups, including the Flint River Watershed Coalition and Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG). DCS is committed to “promoting restoration and stewardship of the Flint River ecosystem through education, citizen involvement and other collaborative efforts, for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the people, plants and animals of the watershed.”

The District is a nested Municipal Separate Storm Water System (MS4) for which a cooperative agreement has been reached with Genesee County to carry out the terms and conditions of the Genesee County National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) MS4 stormwater permit.  The District shall reduce the discharge of pollutants from their Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) to the Maximum Extent Practicable and protect water quality in accordance with the appropriate water quality requirements of Michigan Act 451, Public Acts of 1994, Part 31, and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and the district National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.

Please contact the Genesee County Drain Commissioner’s (GCDC) office at (810) 732-1590 for additional information.
