Storm Water Management
Stormwater Management Program
Davison Community Schools encourage all students, faculty, staff, parents and visitors to get involved with the opportunities provided by the local watershed groups, including the Flint River Watershed Coalition and Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG). DCS is committed to “promoting restoration and stewardship of the Flint River ecosystem through education, citizen involvement and other collaborative efforts, for the purpose of improving the quality of life for the people, plants and animals of the watershed.”
The district implemented a Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMP) to reduce the discharge of pollutants from their Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) to the Maximum Extent Practicable and protect water quality in accordance with the appropriate water quality requirements of Michigan Act 451, Public Acts of 1994, Part 31, and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and the district National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.
