Assistant Superintendent's Office - Curriculum
-
The Assistant Superintendent's office is responsible for overseeing all matters dealing with curriculum. This office directs the district's Advisory Curriculum Committee and Curriculum Coordinators, Professional Development programs and District Accreditation process.
The federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law has increased a school district's accountability for student learning. It also has increased the requirements for teacher certification. Now, according to the federal government, a "highly qualified" teacher is one who is certified by the state and teaching only in his/her major area or equivalent. In Davison, all teachers are highly qualified.
It is federal law that parents have the right to know the qualifications of their child's teacher. If you have any questions, please direct them to Matthew Lobban, Assistant Superintendent.
