Preschool Pre-Registration Information and Update on Kindergarten Registration
Please see the information below regarding pre-registration for our 2020-21 school year Preschool. (For Kindergarten Roundup, we are continuing with plans to hold an online kindergarten registration. We are currently working with a third party vendor to build the registration site and hope to have more information for parents of soon-to-be kindergarten students within the next couple of weeks. Once we are up and running, all parents who signed up for Kindergarten Roundup will be contacted. In the meantime, if you know of someone who has a have a child who will be entering kindergarten and has not yet contacted the district, please email Thomson Elementary Principal Natalie Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.)
Davison Community Schools is accepting pre-registration for preschool for the 2020-21 school year. We have two preschool programs available.
- The Cardinal’s Nest is a tuition-based, high-quality preschool program for children ages 3 and 4. The Cardinal’s Nest offers a school readiness program using Creative Curriculum, which will ensure our earliest learners are ready for the next step, whether that be moving to the 4-year-old classroom or onto Kindergarten. We offer several different programming options to ensure your child’s educational needs are met. - Davison’s GSRP program offers classes on the campus of Central Elementary and at the Cardinal’s Nest. Certified teachers use a state-approved kindergarten readiness curriculum. The child to adult ratio is 1:8. This program is Michigan’s state-funded and endorsed preschool program for eligible 4-year-old children. Family income and risk factors determine eligibility for free programming. Families making over an established amount of income may be eligible to attend for a small monthly tuition fee of around $68. However, prioritization will be given to families in a lower income bracket. Criteria for tuition and eligibility is established annually by the state Legislature. If your child will be 4 on or before September 1, you may fill out the pre-application by visiting: www.geneseepreschool.org. Your application will be processed by the Genesee Intermediate School District and qualifying families will be routed to Davison’s GSRP. Our office will then contact you and an appointment will be set. You must provide your child’s official birth certificate, a completed immunization record and proof of family income.
