Letter and "What Does Online and Face-to-Face Learning Look Like in 2020-21"

July 20, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We know you have a lot of questions regarding what returning to face-to-face (F2F) instruction will look like when students return to school on August 17. There are also a lot of questions regarding on-line instruction and how that will differ from the distance learning the district provided last spring. All of that information will be provided in our “Return to School” plan that we hope to release in draft form this week. As the District works to finalize that plan, we have developed documents that provide information on what face-to-face learning will look like as well as what to expect if you choose the online option. Those documents are included with this letter and hopefully will provide you with at least some of the answers you are looking for.

We are also getting numerous questions and requests for assistance with our Online Registration process. We are responding to those requests in the order they were received. Due to the number of emails and phone calls we are getting it may take a day or two to get back with you. We appreciate your patience during this unprecedented time.

Lastly, If you are not ready to make a decision regarding whether you want your child to return to face-to-face instruction or go online to start the 2020/2021 school year, that’s okay. You do not need to make that decision by July 24. We realize this may be a difficult decision and we don’t want you to feel pressured and stressed to make a decision this week if you are not prepared to do so.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue to work out the details of our Davison Return to Learn plan. As you can imagine, re-thinking “school” as we have known it is not as easy as you can imagine and we really do appreciate your patience.
