Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Preschool

Starting Monday, March 1, 2021, you will be able to pre-register for the upcoming 2021/2022 school years.  There are two important steps to complete in order to pre-register for Davison GSRP.

Certified teachers use a state approved kindergarten readiness curriculum.  The child to adult ratio is 1:8.  This program is Michigan’s state-funded and endorsed preschool program for eligible 4-year-old children.  Family income and risk factors determine eligibility for free programming.  Families making over an established amount of income may be eligible to attend for a small monthly tuition fee.  However, eligibility and prioritization guidelines are followed. Criteria for tuition and eligibility is established annually by the Legislature.

Step 1

If your child will be 4 on or before September 1, you may fill out the preschool interest form by visiting: https://michiganpreschool.org/index.php

Your interest form will go directly to the Genesee Intermediate School District for review.  If you qualify and choose the Davison Schools GSRP program, your interest form will be forwarded to the DCS Early Learning Office to get started with the process of registering your child in our GSRP program.  In Davison, we have GSRP programs at the Central Elementary campus and at the Cardinal’s Nest preschool building. For more information, call (810) 591-0922.

Step 2

After you fill out the GSRP online interest form, you can click on this link to print out the enrollment packet: https://www.davisonschools.org/site/handlers/filedownload.ashx?moduleinstanceid=5462&dataid=12224&FileName=GSRPEnrollmentPacket.pdf

Complete the required documents and return them, along with the additional forms needed, to the Central Elementary campus between March 1 and June 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 pm.  If you do not have access to print the documents from the website, you may also pick up a packet from the Early Learning Office at Central Elementary, 600 S. State St., door #4, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or take one from the small labeled bin located under the awning for after hours. Please take one packet per child.  DO NOT LEAVE COMPLETED PAPERWORK IN THE BIN OUTSIDE.  If needed we can make copies for you.  Only one person at a time will be allowed inside, you MUST wear a mask and practice social distancing.
