The following changes took place in the most recent update of the Genesee County Health Department's Toolkit for Schools
DEFINITION CHANGE: A close contact (regardless of masked or not) is someone within 6 feet for at least 10 minutes of a COVID Positive individual 48 hours prior to symptom onset or test date if asymptomatic.
QUARANTINE PROCEDURE CHANGE: A close contact, if vaccinated can continue coming to school/work if they monitor symptoms and wear a mask for 14 days since last exposure (contact) with the positive case.
A close contact who is unvaccinated or is a household member* to a positive case can continue coming to school/work if they monitor symptoms, wear a mask for 14 days, and rapid test negative on any school days within 7 days of last exposure (contact) with the positive case.
*For a close contact household member, last exposure (contact) with the positive household member begins on day ten of the positive household member's isolation OR the day after the close contact and positive household member are able to separate from each other if before the 10th day of isolation.
Rapid testing takes place 6:30 to 8 a.m. on school days at Lake Callis, located on Gale Road between Davison and Lapeer roads.
